The goal of „TeachOneWorld e.V.“ is to establish principles of education for sustainable developement within educational systems worldwide.

Education for sustainable developement (ESD) strives to strengthen the ability of learners to base their decisions on criteria of sustainablity. This means to enable youngsters to understand the global interdependence of economy, society and enviroment in its transnational and transcultural complexity and act acordingly. Education for sustainable developement teaches knowledge, values and abilities to enable those taking over responsibility in the future to preserve, regenerate and sustain the symbiose of man and nature.

teachoneworld.org is a multilingual one issue social networking website, designed to connect individual educators, instituions and organisations who want to engage in that task in order to enable worldwide collaboration and exchange on the issue. Its main goal is to answer one question:

How should we teach today to change tomorrow?

Ist primary target users are teachers and other educators who want to make a difference right now and need help doing it on a profound basis.

Real education for sustainable developement can only be established from the people by the people for the people. The network sees itsself as part of multiple efforts undertaken during the decade of of education for sustainable developement initiated by the UNESCO from 2005 to 2014.
